Homegrown Innovation Challenge

About the project:

The Challenge: Create and deliver a market-ready system to reliably, sustainably, and competitively produce berries out-of-season and at scale in Canada.

Our grantees are visionaries and innovators—change-makers and risk-takers who are transforming the future of agriculture. From early prototypes to farm-scale solutions, these teams are driving real, measurable change. Working with producers, farmers, engineers, scientists, and technologists, their results reflect the power of collaboration, creativity, and Canadian ingenuity in solving one of our most pressing challenges. This is where innovation meets impact.

Assignment: Capture a library of photos around the project, with good representative portraits of grantees and their team.

Execution: Visiting the lab and their team at SFU campus in burnaby one day for Shepherd Phase grantee photos, and then later visiting farm in Yarrow, BC for the Scaling Phase Grantee winners. Capturing overall images of the farm and greenhouse, teams at work, and progress.
